As a triathlete, I competed for six years in numerous events including sprint, Olympic, half ironman and Ironman triathlons. I also try to get involved as much as possible by volunteering at local events and serving as a pace group leader for half marathons and marathons. One of my major goals, as the Founder and President of the University of Kansas Triathlon Club, is to bring athletes together to train and inform others about nutrition and physical activity.
I found the world of endurance sports after playing baseball in college. As a pitcher for Southern Arkansas University Muleriders.
My passion for physical activity led me to the University of Kansas. In 2010, I earned my Masters Degree in Physical Education. As a Graduate Research Assistant in the Energy Balance Lab, a leading weight loss research laboratory, I was able to work on long-term research studies with experience in Energy Expenduature, Dexa, Resting Metabolic Rate, Exercise Metabolic Rate and Personal Training.
